Supply Drugs

Supplying drugs to another person is a very serious offence.

Penalties

Depending on how much drugs you supply, the penalties vary from 2 years full time gaol and/or fine of $11,000 (in the Local Court) and up to 15 years gaol and/or fine of $220,000 for a “strictly indictable” matter (meaning it must be dealt with in the District Court).

What do the police have to prove?

The police must prove that the person supplying (dealing) the drugs supplied or knowingly took part in the supply of the prohibited drug. If you were simply a "middle-man" and did not actively sell drugs to people, you may be charged for supplying drugs.

What if I was minding drugs for someone else?

If you are simply minding drugs for someone, that may not necessarily mean you can be charged with supplying drugs. What the court looks at is if there was some financial gain in supplying the drugs.
